then went into a tirade of how upset and furious
he has become over a series of other issues he is
at loggerheads with the Coal Program over, and
that he is planning on taking them to court. I
explained that I had no knowledge nor interest in
these unrelated issues, and asked what they had
to do witb the present situation, and our mutual
efforts to proceed with investigation and
mitigation of the fire. He stated that,
unfortunately, he needed to be able to use this
alleged incident of not having his prior consent to
use the baclill as a bargaining chip with the
Coal Program... that they were always picking on
him for every little silly thing, and that he was
going to use this perceived incident as a way of
giving the Division a dose of its own medicine. I
expressed my disappointment in his intent to use
such a minor misunderstanding between he and
I as a point of conflict with others who were not
involved, but he insisted that the Division as a
whole, and unfortunately i was a pram of it, had
pushed him too far, and felt it was necessary to
use the incident as part of"his hand", in the forth
coming law suit. At this point I asked him if he
objected to the backfilling of the vents and holes,
and he said no, that it needed to be done. I
asked hinn if he understood-my motives in using
the materials from a disturbed area adjacent to
the job site, and which is to be reclaimed soon,
and he said yes, that it was a logical approach,
but I should have checked with Nina first I asked
him if it would be OK to finish the job by paying
for the materials as he had agreed with the
Contractor, and he said no, that he would now
prefer that all work be stopped until ';we sit down
and resolve this issue with Mike Long and Steve
Renner." He went on to suggest that Steve
should probably call hint,as soon as possible, and
that he was going to be in the office that morning
consulting with his attorney,can the matter.
July 26, 9:30arn- I contacted personnel at Energy Fuels by
Telephone and asked therm to go up to the job
site and have Sill call me as soon as possible.
