Removal Plan <br /> Equipment <br /> • Excavator-Volvo 250-weight 59,000 lbs. <br /> • Dozer-D-5-weight 26,000 lbs. <br /> • Front End Loader to load the trashed house trailer; <br /> • Roll Off to remove the trashed house trailer <br /> In addition,vehicles such as ATVs, and 4-Wheel Drive vehicles will also be used. <br /> Support vehicles will be restricted to using the access road and the La Plata River <br /> bridge crossing after bridge planking has been tested to assure safe crossing. <br /> Personnel <br /> Waldo Excavation project activities will be managed by Mr. Kurt Waldo and an <br /> additional four employees required to support equipment removal activities. <br /> Ball Mill Removal Plan <br /> Building-Ball Mill Removal <br /> The front of the Quonset mill building (See Figure 2)will be unbolted and removed <br /> to expose the mill. Because the mill is mounted on a skid,the mill will be easily <br /> moved from the mill building.After mill connections are disconnected,the <br /> supported float cells in-side the mill building will be stabilized with steel supports, <br /> and the mill will be skidded from the building using the Volvo 250 excavator. No <br /> material on the May Day No. 1 bench will be excavated and no other alterations to <br /> the building are anticipated. After the mill is removed,the front of the Quonset <br /> Building will be replaced, bolted and secured. <br /> Steep Road Grades and Turns <br /> The access haul road(see Figure 3-black lined travel route) used to remove the mill <br /> has a stretch of road where the grades approach thirty percent and hair-pin turns <br /> exist.A dozer will be taking the lead to skid and steer the mill around sharp turns <br /> and to guide the mill within the approved access haul road right of way.The Volvo <br /> 250 excavator will be located upgradient of the dozer and attached to the skid to <br /> provide stability,and as necessary,guide the skid within the road right of way No <br /> new disturbed areas are proposed, and no new land disturbances are anticipated. <br /> Following mill removal activities,and as necessary,the travelled road will be <br /> regraded. <br /> River Crossing <br /> The heavy equipment to move the mill and generator requires the crossing of the <br /> La Plata River(See Figure 4a and 4b)The equipment will be transported across the <br /> La Plata as outlined in the Army Corp of Engineers letter dated August 20, 2019. <br /> (See Attachment C). Wildcat is not required to obtain an Army Corp of Engineers <br /> River permits, however an approved TR from the CDRMS is requried. Prior to a <br /> fording of the river,equipment tires and tracks will be pressure washed to remove <br /> 5 33CFR323.4-Discharges not requiring permits-Section 6(Army Corp of Engineers Correspondence-See Attachment C) <br />
