As discussed on the site, the existing Site Reclamation Plan needs
to be updated to address future reclamation work and the Permit Area Map needs to be updated
to reflect past reclamation work. This Technical Revision updates the previously approved
Reclamation Plan and Permit Area Map for the Red Mountain Site.
Introduction
In 1977, Idarado was issued Permit Number M-1977-403HR (Permit) from the Colorado
Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (CDRMS) which included the current Reclamation
Plan.
Since issuance of the Permit, areas of the Site have been reclaimed and activities at the Site areas
have changed. Therefore Idarado is requesting that the Idarado Permit be updated to reflect these
changes, as detailed below.
DRMS Mining Plan Map of Permit Area
The proposed Permit Area and map (Figure 1) includes the areas remaining to be reclaimed and
the areas with ongoing operations. The smaller 1.25 acre area to the northwest includes an
access road and a borrow area for material used in reclamation. The larger 13.87 acre area to the
southeast includes the existing maintenance shop and proposed new maintenance shop, the
Treasury Tunnel Portal, fuel shed, mill foundation, cribbing, trestle, and loadout structure. These
two areas compose the entirety of the disturbed areas that will be reclaimed or remain in place
for ongoing site operations, consisting of primarily of maintenance operations of reclaimed areas.
1
