Introduction
The Bradford Mesa Quarry is located approximately 7 miles northeast of Walsenburg, CO in
Huerfano County at an elevation of 6050 feet. The Bradford Mesa Quarry was previously
permitted by Impact Investments under a Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety(DRMS)
112 construction materials permit in 2009 (M-2009-003) for 769 acres but was never mined. The
bond for M-2009-003 was released by the DRMS on December 1, 2013. The property and
mineral rights are owned by the Colorado State Land Board and Edmundson Ranches, LLC. The
Bradford Mesa Quarry will be operated by Southway Construction Company, Inc. of Alamosa
The permit area will include 1190.2 acres. The increase in acreage reflects including access roads
along the base of the mesa.
Bradford Mesa Quarry
August 2019 i-1
