The weather was
warm, and the ground was dry.
The Wolverine Fuels (BRL)representative who participated in the field inspection was Basil Bear.
Oxbow Mining, LLC staff(including Mike Ludlow)were on site at the bench above the D Portal to test the
methane flare system.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The following ponds were inspected: B, C, D, J, and F. None of the ponds were discharging, and no problems
were identified with embankments, spillways, or other features of the ponds (except trees on Pond J as noted
below). Particular comments on the ponds:
Pond B was holding a small volume of water. The pump was not operating.
Pond C was holding a small volume of water. The pump was not operating.
• Pond D was empty.
• Pond J was holding a significant volume of water. It receives flows from the Gob Pile#3 underdrain and
from seepage from the Fire Mountain Canal. Trees/shrubs on the embankment are not optimal, and this structure
should be watched closely; small trees and shrubs should be killed.
• Pond F was holding a significant volume of water.
A portion of Ditch D-F4 requires attention due to extensive erosion. At some locations,the ditch is approximately
seven feet deep, and banks are near vertical. Basil Bear discussed the possibilities of rip rapping the entire channel
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 2 of 11
