July 10, 2019 C-1981-038/Bowie No. 1 Mine JHB
the way up the slope from West Mine Pond 1. No rills or gullies were noted on the West mine. No bare areas are
present, and vegetation looks stable.
The vegetative cover at the East mine appeared stable from a distance. Access onto the East mine area was
hampered by the herd of cows clustering at the entry gate.
Vegetation at the ROM area is very good and diverse. Noxious species were not encountered. The local energy
company,DMEA,had installed a buried line on the north side of the ROM area. For the most part, this activity
created little disturbance on the reclaimed ROM area. This third party disturbance is not BRL's responsibility.
However, It does not appear that DMEA has seeded this small linear disturbance. BRL may wish to monitor this
area to assure it does not become a weed problem, and contact the third party responsible for this work.
Vegetative cover at the highway stockpile storage area is beginning to dry up. No obvious weed concerns were
noted here, and site is stable.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED NA
OTHER(SPECIFY)NA
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 3 of 5
