June 13,2019
Alyson Boye
Charles Bissue
Kim Morrison, Jofree Duran
• - Stability Evaluation of the Proposed Leach Test Cell
Valley Leach Facility_1 (VLF-1)
This document summarizes the geotechnical evaluation of the Leach Test Cell (Test Cell) that is
proposed to be placed at the 10,130 feet (ft) elevation on the Arequa Gulch Valley Leach Facility
(VLF-1). The purpose to the Test Cell is to evaluate recovery of the ore placed within it.
1.0 Test Cell Layout
The proposed Test Cell will be placed on an existing haul road on a leached ore section of the
VLF-1, with the toe staked at the 10,130 ft elevation, and will have a lift height that varies from 2 ft
at the southern edge to 30 ft at the northern edge. The Test Cell will be lined to allow the
collection of leached solution (See Figures 1 and 2).
The design and layout of the Test Cell were developed to achieve several key objectives, as
follows:
➢ Develop an effective grading plan for collecting the leached solution to assess recovery;
➢ Provide a geotechnically-stable layout such that acceptable factors of safety(FS)could be
achieved; and
➢ Locate the Test Cell on an area of VLF-1 that has sufficient space around it..
Page 1
