B. Depth of topsoiling- N/A.
C. Final grading of topsoiled lands-N/A.
3. Accommodation for drainage -The drainage through the pit is winding rather than straight
as if it is on a fault line. The gradient is being carefully laid in avoid any deep basins. But a
small detention basin may be established just before the outlet so a better control over release
can be established.
4. Revegetation- The 2014 revegetation area of 32 acres was inspected on July 3, 2019. It will
be fully released in the near future.
5. Status of Prior Revegetation Areas-
A. Status of newest seedings as of report date- See above. This area will be approved
for release.
E. Status of older revegetation as of report date(describe growth rates, cover, invasive
species, native invasion, and difficulties) - Many of the older revegetation areas are
fading into the surrounding landscape. The revegetation mixtures provided a good
match to the native vegetation and with development and invasion these reclaimed
areas are sometimes hard to distinguish from the native vegetation unless one looks
very closely. However, some of the oldest reclamation areas still don't mesh as well
with the native vegetation as some of the most recent reclamation. Just goes to show
how much has been learned since the beginning.
Individual Reclamation Areas: The newest reclamation area was described previously.
F. Description of animal impacts on revegetation: No significant animal impacts
were noted. Grazing appears to be well managed.
WEED STATUS:
1. General overview of weed status on site: The primary weed present is cheatgrass. The
areas being reclaimed are too disturbed to show much weed growth or any other kind of
growth.
A. Status of species that have been present in the past: In a general sense, the
bottomlands still have prodigious leafy spurge. That will likely never be eradicated.
But those areas are outside the areas of active reclamation and what was there was
released years ago.
B. New weed species: No new species were seen.
2. Feed status on lessee responsibility lands: As described above.
Status report for 2019 due July 15, 2019 Page 4 of 5
