C-11 r1
exposure to prevailing winds. In the event significant wind-borne dispersion or precipitation-induced erosion
become factors of concern with respect to the stockpile integrity,CSC will employ back-up stabilization measures,
if warranted; such measures may include the use of silt fencing, sediment logs, etc. and potential deployment of a
cover system(e.g.,weighted tarps) and/or other measures consistent with best management practices.
LWsoil Stockpile 2(Man Feature"TS-2—Perimeter Berms"):TS-2 will be contained within, and be utilized as, a
series of continuous perimeter berms to be constructed around the perimeter of the main mine pit and the fines
recovery pit, respectively. The roughly triangular-shaped (cross-section) berms will have a nominal 3-ft. apex
height, with sides at natural angle of repose, and the overall(totalized)length of berm(s)is anticipated to encompass
some 2,000 linear ft. On this basis, it is estimated that approximately 1,600 yd3, or approximately 18%of thetotal
"topsoil"salvage volume will be accommodated(temporarily stored)within the perimeter berm system.
It is anticipated that the berm features will be routinely maintained during the short duration operational life of the
Project, to include grading/re-shaping (as may be required), and application of water spray in conjunction with
loadout loop road dust control measures.
(c) THICKNESS OF OVERBURDEN OR WASTE ROCK
With the exception of the "growth medium", discussed above in sub-section(b),no "overburden"or"waste rock"
mining is anticipated. As indicated above, the topmost 12-inches of material (i.e., "growth medium") will be pre-
stripped(salvaged) and stockpiled for utilization in final site reclamation activities.
All underlying excavated material will be considered run-of-mine(ROM) material suitable for processing; and, as
such, will be stockpiled(per the mine plan) for subsequent processing, or delivered direct to the process plant feed
hopper for introduction into the wet process plant. Thus, there will be no mining of overburden or waste rock
materials associated with the Keenesburg Project.
