Homestake Mining Company May 10,2019
Regular(112d)Operation Reclamation Permit Application Package
5.10. Operable Unit 10: Haul and Access Roads
The various haul and access roads located outside of the other operable units are shown on
Exhibit F Maps F-10A through F-1OD.
5.10.1. Previous Reclamation
No previous reclamation has been completed on the haul and access roads.
5.10.2. Proposed Reclamation
The following reclamation activities are proposed within the Sandstone Quarry:
• Existing Haul Roads located on private property that connect the various OUs will remain
open to accommodate general site access and no reclamation will be completed.
• Public access will be continued outside of private property, between the Marshall Pass
Road (Forest Service Road #243) and the private property access control gate via an
Access Road. This Access Road has been inadvertently widened over the years,
measuring over 30 ft in some locations. Additionally, gravel that has been bladed off the
road template has partially covered culvert inlets and outlets in some locations. Road work
is needed to re-establish this road, which will include reconstruction in the form of pulling
the road template back to a width of 22 ft, establishing a 4 to 6% crown, rebuilding culvert
catch basins, and cleaning the inlets and outlets of each culvert on the road alignment.
EXHIBIT E-RULE 6.4.5(AMENDED RECLAMATION PLAN) Page 74
HOMESTAKE MINING COMPANY
