Besides the relatively
small population of Tamerisk, I did find a good size population of White Top on the west side of
the property along County Road 22. White top, or perennial pepper weed, is also on the Colorado
Noxious Weed List B as I state in the attached narrative.
Considering the relatively small population of Tamarisk, I would recommend the mechanical
treatment of removing the plants with heavy equipment and then chipping or burning the plants to
prevent regrowth. For the White Top, one of the chemical treatments discussed in the Fact Sheets
attached to the narrative would be your best options, but it is going to have to be done soon, prior
to plant bloom, and then persistently for multiple years to treat recruitment from seeds that may be
present in the soil. As with all chemicals, the label directions should be followed. There is also a
good population of native range grasses established that should be considered in which herbicide
to use.
I hope this helps and if you have further questions, please do not hesitate to call me.
Sincerely, ry
I'W'u
Bruce L.
