Overall these parcels were in excellent
condition. The Team observed abundant cool season perennial grasses and forbs, both volunteer
and as featured in the approved seed mix, including Western wheatgrass, mountain brome,
Kentucky Bluegrass, yarrow, red clover, beardtongue, yellow sweetclover, and aster. The West
Elk Mine permit does not have a woody species revegetation standard, but the Team also
observed mature sagebrush, serviceberry, and Woods’ rose. In limited instances the Team
mechanically treated minor occurrences of noxious weeds, primarily Canada thistle, but none of
these rose to the level of infestation.

Site Remarks
01-23-01
24HG2E27XC
22-01, 22-02A, & 22-02B Mechanically treated occasional thistle
23-01, 23-02, & 23-03 See Figure 5
23-03B Mechanically treated occasional thistle
23-04 Mechanically treated one houndstongue
23-05
23-06, 23-07, & 23-07A Rigging for NIOSH seismic measuring station
in place.
