The inspection was <br />completed by Clayton Wein of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division). Chuck Selingo of <br />McClane Canyon Mining, LLC (MCM) was present for the inspection. The weather was clear with a temperature <br />of 75 degrees F. The ground conditions were dry. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records for the McClane Canyon Mine are located at the office of J.E. Stover and Associates in Grand <br />Junction, CO. The records were well kept and in good condition. Please see the Availability of Records form <br />attached to the end of this report for more details. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> Deer scat was observed throughout the inspection of the site. Deer tracks were also located around the <br />sediment pond. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> East Salt Creek was flowing at the time of the inspection. There are two sumps located at the west end of <br />the mine office pad. One is located on the north side of the Haul Road (Photo 1) and the other is located on the <br />south side of the Haul Road. The sump located on the north side of the road was holding water but was not <br />observed to be discharging. The sump on the south side of the road was dry. Both of the sumps were stable and <br />the silt fences were intact. There was no evidence of water bypassing the sumps. The ditches along the Haul <br />Road were dry during the inspection. The berms were stable and no evidence of water bypassing the ditches was <br />observed. Several sumps along the Haul Road are connected to the Haul Road ditches. The sumps were holding <br />small amounts of water (Photo 2). There was no discharge observed from any of the sumps into the ditches. The <br />inlets and outlets of the sumps were clear of debris. There were no indications of erosional features. The sediment
