HBET understands that Martinez Western Constructors, Inc.
conducted some surface mining in the western portion of the subject property. The purpose of our work
was to evaluate the finished slopes with regard to potential impacts on existing structures at the site.
In order to evaluate the finished cut slopes, HBET conducted site reconnaissance on November 16t",
2018. At that time, the finished slopes within the area of interest shown on the attached site plan had a
maximum height of approximately eight feet. The slopes had been graded back to at least 3H:1 V. The
soils exposed in the slopes consisted primarily of sands and gravels.
As shown on the attached site plan, the nearest structure is a power pole which is approximately 65 feet
from the crest of the slopes. This is over eight times the height of the cut slopes in this area. Based upon
the cut slope heights, cut slope angles, and soil conditions, HBET does not believe that the finished cut
slopes in the area of interest pose any risk to structures on the subject site or adjacent properties.
We are pleased to be of service to your project. Please contact us if you have any questions or comments
regarding the contents of this report.
Respectfully Submitted:
Huddleston-Berry Engineering and Testing,LLC
oA 6•<s1lti9L
Michael A.
