EXHIBIT G WATER INFORMATION
1. General
Map C-1 shows the location of all identified streams, creeks, ponds, or other water courses on the
surface. The only known aquifer in the area is the alluvial aquifer of the East Fork of the Arkansas
River. The river runs along the north side of the proposed mining operations.
2. Surface Water
The proposed disturbed areas of each pit will drain internally. No stormwater will be allowed to
leave disturbed areas and flow offsite. Due to the permeable nature of the alluvium and the high
altitude of the site (>10,000 ft), it is anticipated that all surface water from storms will infiltrate or
evaporate.
The 100-YR 24-HR storm event for this area is 3.15 inches.3 Ground water is at least 30 feet below
the surface, and will provide sufficient storage space in each pit to contain all stormwater. Perimeter
berms around the processing area will be maintained during mining. These berms will be at least
two feet tall with 2H:1 V sideslopes. Berms will be made of topsoil and will be vegetated upon
construction. See Map C-2 for their location.
A Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment stormwater discharge permit will not be
necessary since as discharges will leave the site.
3. Groundwater
Ground water will not be exposed until a substitute water supply plan or water augmentation plan is
in place from the Colorado Division of Water Resources. This application shows mining of sub-
water table material and the presence of post-mining lakes as intended by the Operator. However,
no ground water exposure will take place until the appropriate water source permits
(SWSP/augmentation plan) are in place. Until that time, excavation will remain at least two feet
s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration 14 Point Precipitation Frequency Estimates for Colorado;
https://hdsc.nws.noaa.gov/hdsc/pfds/pfds_map_cont.html?bkmrk=co
Birdseye Pit Gr",Lewicki and As%miato,PLl C
June 2019 G-1
