Lloyd Property (owned by New Horizon)
This parcel of 79.74 acres is north of BB Road and immediately west of the aforementioned
Benson parcel. It is owned by the New Horizon Mine. For clarity of identification, it will be
referred to as the Lloyd parcel.
• This tract was originally classified by New Horizon as Irrigated Pasture and Rangeland.
• The irrigated portions of this tract were flood Irrigated in the past. Irrigation water was
allowed to traverse over the land at will. There is not any evidence the land was ever
developed into a tract suitable to be irrigated by a sprinkler system.
• New Horizon owns 24 shares of Colorado Cooperative Company irrigation water and
all of it is dedicated to this tract.
• This tract of land has been abandoned from active farming for at least 15 years,
according to pre disturbance satellite images and the size and distribution of invasive
rose/sage brush and noxious weeds.
• A side roll irrigation design has been developed by New Horizon based on Natural
Resources Conservation Service Irrigation Handbooks and Manuals and National
Engineering Handbook Sec. 15, Chap. 11. This design can be seen in Attachment
2.05.4(2)(e)-9. This design provides a total Irrigated Pasture area of 13.35 acres. The
remaining 58 acres of reclamation on the Lloyd's property will be reclaimed as Dryland
Pasture.
See Map 2.05.4-5 for the location of the irrigated and the dryland pasture portions of this tract.
Additional lands surrounding this 25.62 acre irrigated area can be irrigated in the future if the
landowner desires to do so. A minimum of 62 acres can be irrigated since the slopes are very mild
(approx. 4%), which represents the planned final topography (Map 2.05.4-5). Since the planned
irrigation area (25.62 acres) is at the high point of the property, all lower areas can be easily
irrigated if New Horizon decides to make more water available for this area.
Johnson Property (owned by New Horizon)
This parcel is immediately west of the Lloyd parcel. It is owned by New Horizon Mine, and
totals of 95.89 acres.
This tract was originally classified by New Horizon as Irrigated Pasture, Irrigated
Pasture Hayland, and Rangeland.
Portions of these tracts were flood irrigated in the past. Irrigation water was allowed to
traverse over the land at will.
New Horizon does not own sufficient water to irrigate this land overall since it
has only 12 shares for a total of 95.89 acres.
Page 8 October 2016 (TR -75)
