Mr. Basil Bear <br />was present at the mine office, but was unable to accompany the inspection. The weather was raining off and on <br />during the nspection, turning to a hard rain and snow which limited access to some locations. According to Mr. <br />Bear, the mine had received 2.28” of precipitation in May by May 23rd. The mine site and region has been <br />unusually cool and wet this spring. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> Records for the Bowie No. 2 Mine are stored in the office by the main entry road. Mine records were <br />checked and the Availability of Records form is found at the end of this report. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> Four mule deer were browsing alongside the haul road near curve #3. Fresh bobcat tracks were noted at <br />the curve #8 at the pond diversion structure. The bobcat was not seen. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Impoundments 4.05.6, <br />4.05.9; <br /> Due to late snows and muddy roads, Basil reported that he has been hampered accessing some of the more <br />remote hydrologic monitoring sites. He will continue to assure the monitoring schedule is met. <br /> <br />Ponds were visited, until the rain/snow storm closed in. None of the ponds were being discharged, nor was there <br />any evidence that they had been pumped.
