EXHIBIT A
Von Doose Mine 110(1)Reclamation Permit Application
Legal Description and Location Map
The proposed Von Doose Mine is centered in the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 7,
Township 42 North,Range 7 West, 6"Principal Meridian, in Ouray County.
Located on the northeast flank of Red Mountain No.2,the project is approximately 8.8 road miles south of
Ouray. To access the project from Ouray, take Highway 550 south for 6.9 miles to the intersection with
County Road 20A(CR20A) in Ironton Park, then east on CR20A for 1.9 miles until an intersection with a
gated private road to the south. Behind the gate, the private road first accesses the proposed mining
operation 800 feet from CR 20A.
The project can also be accessed by 10.9 road miles north from Silverton, via Corkscrew Pass. From
Silverton at the beginning of San Juan County Road 110 (CR110) continue north 6.4 miles to the
intersection with CRI O. Turn left and continue on CR10 for 1.5 miles to the intersection with CR11. Again
turn left and continue on CRI I for 1.1 miles to the top of Corkscrew Pass, which is the boundary between
Ouray and San Juan Counties. Continue down the pass 1.9 miles on CR20A to the intersection with the
gated private road to the south.
A location map using a 7.5' USGS topographic map showing the location of the Von Doose Mine is
included herein as Attachment A-1.
The surface activities of the mining operation are proposed to occur within two separate affected area
boundaries on four contiguous patented mining claims. The two affected area boundaries are accessed via
the pre-existing, private road and located approximately 800 feet and 4,500 feet up the private road from
CR20A, at elevations ranging from 10,810 to 11,420 feet.
The four mining claims were patented in 1887 under Mineral Survey Number 5351. They are owned by
Red Mountain Trust, LLC and are grouped into separate parcel numbers by the Ouray County Assessor: 1)
477507100003 for the Oceola and Veto; and 2) 477507100021 for the Senator Beck and India.
Latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates of the proposed primary entrance are 37.91737N, -107.67570W.
Page 1 of I
