C-2009-087, operated by Peabody Sage Creek Mining, <br />LLC (PSCM). Miranda Kawcak with PSCM accompanied the field inspection. Records were checked in the <br />Foidel Creek office on 5/15/2019. The weather was clear. The Sage Creek Mine is currently in Temporary <br />Cessation. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> Records were checked at the Foidel Creek Mine office. See the end of this report for details. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> All ponds were holding water and discharging. Water present at the portal, operator noted that the pumps <br />had been having electrical issues, but the pumps were on manual. The workings behind the portal seal are very <br />limited as the mine went into temporary cessation before and any significant production occurred. Slump area <br />above the portal does not appear to have changed photo below for reference. The area has a decent amount <br />vegetation. <br /> <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: operator stated that weeds will be sprayed in early June. Roads were <br />in good condition. The site received a large amount of snow this year and some erosional features are present and <br />seeps are flowing. <br /> The following maintenance items need to be addressed (pictures of some items are below in photo <br />section): <br /> Culverts by compressor building need to be cleared out
