Jordan McCourt of GCC Energy was present for the entire inspection. The
weather conditions were overcast and cool. The ground was damp and the temperature was approximately 45F.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1):
All required records were on file and available for review at the mine office. No problems were noted
with the records review. Please see the availability of records checklist at the end of this report.

HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
King I
The sediment traps along the haul road have been cleaned and are in good condition (photo 1).
Reach 5 in front of the Burnwell Tipple has been cleaned and the embankment reinforced (photo 2).
The ditch behind the bath house has been cleaned. The inlet to Reach 9 needs to be cleaned.

King II
The culverts C5, C17A, C16 (photo 3), C15 and C14 need to be cleaned.
The inlet to culvert C12 (photo 4) by the truck scale needs to be cleaned. The coal stockpile has been pushed close
to this inlet and coal material from the pile is falling on the inlet grate. The coal pile needs to be pushed back so
material does not fall on the inlet grate and the surrounding area allowing water to flow to the inlet structure.
The east clear water diversion ditch needs to have the sediment removed on the north side of the topsoil pile, a
couple of broken limbs removed by the crusher/screen (photo 5) and the berm repaired by the air jig.
The open ditch between the truck scale and the pond has been cleaned and sediment traps have been installed
(photo 6). Culvert C6 is clean and in good condition.
The sediment pond contained water but was not discharging. The outlet culverts C4 A&B have some dirt in them
