9 April 2019 C-1981-010/Trapper Mine RAR <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br /> <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />ROADS – Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3) I 4.03.2(3); Drainage 4.03.1(4) I 4.03.2(4); Surfacing and <br />Maintenance 4.03.1(5) and (6) I 4.03.2(5) and (6); Reclamation 4.03.1(7) I 4.03.2(7) <br />o Haul roads and access roads appeared in good repair, well maintained and free of ruts. <br />o The wind came up about 10:30 a.m. causing fugitive dust with road traffic. However, <br />no evidence of offsite impacts were observed. <br /> <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES – Rule 4.04 <br />o Support facilities (ready line), appeared well maintained and organized. <br />o Ash pit surface was observe d to be graded, compacted and free of ice, <br />puddles, standing water and ruts. <br />o Weather station information was downloaded . <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE – Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge <br />Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage- Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, <br />4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18 <br /> <br />o Roads to some pond systems were impassable due to their steepness in muddy conditions. <br />o The pond systems visited comprised: Johnson, Pyeatt, Coyote, Far East Buzzard, No <br />Name, and Flume. <br />- No Name Pond #4, East Flume #1 and Middle Flume #1 ponds held turbid water and <br />were not discharging. <br />- Middle Pyeatt system was dry <br />- Oak system was discharging a small amount at spillway. There was no discharge <br />through the flume. Water appeared turbid. Both ponds were full. <br />- Coyote, Far East Buzzard, Grouse, West Pyeatt, West Flume, Jeffway pond all held a <br />small amount of water. <br />o Water in ponds appeared clear with the exceptions noted. <br />o Water samples were taken at the discharging ponds: <br />- Johnson 10 R clear water <br />- No Name 5R pond held turbid water and was discharging at approximately 0.45 cfs <br />- East Pyeat #3 pond held turbid water and was discharging. <br />- Middle Flume #3 was discharging turbid water at approximately 1.45 cfs.
