f `
feasible to engage in a larger recovery effort that would be covered by a separate Notice
of Intent.
7. If the material is hauled offsite, where will it be hauled to and what it the intended use?
Any extracted material will be taken to our homes and as stated above, added to our
displayed collection of Colorado minerals and used to determine next steps.
8. What is the approximate areal extent of the proposed extraction in acres?
We have staked out an area that is 25'by 25'for prospecting. I will refer to this area as
the "Target Prospecting Area". Hopefully these stakes have been undisturbed.
9. To what approximate depth will the extraction extend?
This is unknown at this time.
We would need to dig test holes in several locations within the Target Prospecting Area
to determine the approximate average depth of the soil down to bedrock. These holes
would obviously need to be filled with the dirt that came out of the hole.
Our intent is to dig holes up to +/- 5' in depth holes, or until we hit bedrock which ever
happens first. If we hit bedrock before reaching 5', we will stop digging in that area.
THERE WILL BE NO HARD-ROCK MINING. All holes dug will typically be filled the
same day or within a few days with the dirt that was removed.
For clarification purposes, the activity needed to determine the depth of the soil, is the
exact same activity that we intend to complete with the exception that the soil removed
from a hole will be sifted and then replaced.
10. In cubic yards, approximately how much material will be removed?
If we assume an average depth of the soil to be 4 , then we mathematically arrive at an
estimated 2,500 cubic foot of soil for the total 25'by 25' Target Prospecting Area. In
reality, there will be series of holes dug over time. When we are done with a hole, it will
be filled before we start on the next hole.
11. Will material extraction involve the use of explosives?
No explosives.
12. Will site of extraction result in the exposure of tributary ground water?
No.
13. Will either the landowner or the mine site operator receive any type of compensation, i.e.,
monetary, in-kind, haulage fees, etc., from the proposed material extraction?
No.
