The inlets to this pond are in functional shape. No discharge or pumping from this pond has
occurred this season.

Ditches throughout the site, for the most part have fared well through the winter. The straw “logs and anchoring
rock on Ditch D-D7 on gob pile No. 4 held up very well over the winter. BRL continues to consider effective
fixes to the down cutting in the East Diversion ditch at Gob Pile No. 2. Basil discussed directing flow to the East
interface of the gob pile and the native ground and onwards into the East Diversion Ditch. This would be a
preferred way of handling the runoff from the gob pile instead of directing it to the smart ditch.

Ditch D-D6 will need maintenance of sediment clean out once the site dries up a bit. Currently the ditch can pass
the designed flow, but sediment has deposited over the winter. This is considered a maintenance item.

PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES – Rule 4.10 and 4.11
Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement:
BRL has not commenced activity on Gob Pile No. 4 or Gob pile no. 2.

BRL is beginning to compact and push existing material on Gob Pile No. 3. Thy have had some slumping of the
unconsolidated material on the south face of the pile. TBRL is allowing this material to dry out a little more
before trying to move it to the west to compact it. All slumped material remains within the sediment control area.

The Fire Mountain Canal water was turned on up gradient the morning of 4/10. No seepage was observed yet
along the north side of Gob Pile No. 3 or on the Fire Mountain Canal embankment.

ROADS – Rule 4.03
Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3), Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and
(6)/4.03.2(5) and (6), Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
Snow has melted off the roads, but roads throughout the site were damp and slightly muddy. There was
no water pooling on the roads, and the roads were in good condition for spring conditions. Due to wet conditions
we did not attempt to access the terror creek vent fan or the Hubbard creek reclaimed fan area.

REVEGETATION – Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Vegetation throughout the site is beginning to green up. BRL should keep an eye out for emergence of
noxious species. Weed control on noxious species is often very effective in the early stages of growth for many of
the noxious species.

SLIDES and DAMAG - Rule 4.12:
The two slumps on the slope above portal B do not appear to have moved additionally since the March
inspection. BRL has not placed monitoring markers on the slope but have visually monitored this slope regularly.
BRL continues to direct water away from this slope by blocking off Ditch D-B6, and directing runoff to ditch D-
C21 instead. Further downslope in the haul road ditch, BRL has the ability to direct flow to either pond B or Pond
C, so diversion of this flow at D-C21 should have no impact on the receiving sediment pond. BRL has installed a
