Mo|y, P.E.
VV. VV. Wheeler @ Associates, Inc.
Re: 1051.27: 5 Dam Seepvvoter Return System Modification Plans
The purpose of this memorandum is to describe the plans for modification of the 5 Dam Seepwater
Return System that become necessary as the elevation of Movf|owerTSF increases duo to
tailings deposition. The timing of the need for the various modifications is dependent upon mine
production rate and is estimated below. The modification plans have been designated by o
number for reference and are described below:
Plan 1
This plan is shown on Figure 10 and consists of the current configuration and operation of the
system. The seepvvmbar is pumped through the existing 24''/14^ HOPE pipeline from the
K8ovf|ovver Pump Station to the collection pond at the toe of 3 Dam. This system has been in
operation for several years.
Modification Plan 2
This plan in also shown on Figure 1m and may become necessary if the existing pipeline across
&4avOovverTSF becomes dmgged, crushed, or otherwise unusable. If this onoure, the existing
Quarter Cutout Valve will be opened and the seepwater will be conveyed through the TDL North
Cutout Channel to K8avf|ovverT8F. If the timing is such that the North Cutout Pipeline has been
installed, then the seepwater will be conveyed to Mayflower TSF through the pipeline.
c\1oom1os1no51.znonn\zo1omvisionnoosuV_momv_n'uam-soopwotor-p|ono.uoox
