, i
J&J COLLECTING PROJECT #1
HARD ROCK/METAL MINING
LIMITED IMPACT OPERATION (110(1))
RECLAMATION PERMIT APPLICATION
6.3.2 EXHIBIT B -SITE DESCRIPTION
6.3.2 (a)
General: Each of the following sites has varying levels of disturbance from previous digs.
These dig sites were chosen because they reveal the presence of pegmatite structures. All sites
are at an elevation between 8500 and 8600 feet. All the proposed dig sites in this permit
application are gradually sloping,at no more than a 6:1 ratio.
Site 001: (NAD27) 390 O'57.5"N 105019'5.7"W
Site 001 on the New Hawk lode claim has moderate disturbance from previous digs. The area
had some damage from the Hayman fire, killing mostly the larger Timbre. There are a handful
of small pines that have recently come back and are about 1 to 3 feet tall. Some small Aspens
groves can be found to the north and south of the digs. Bunch grasses are also well
established and there is some wax currant. Site 001 has very good soil representation overall
up to 5-6 inches thick with some vegetation and an organic layer. This area is relatively flat
(sloping is roughly 7:1) and so the soil has been protected from erosion.
Site 002: (NAD27) 390 O'58.3"N 105019'10.6."W
Site 002 on the New Hawk lode claim has moderate disturbance from a previous dig. Like the
other two sites, the area surrounding site 003 was damaged by the Hayman fire, killing some
of the larger timbre, though a few scattered pines remain mostly to the south-west and north-
east of the dig site. The surrounding area consists predominantly of bunch grasses, yucca and
possibly Mullein. Site 003 also has relatively thin soil roughly 3-4 inches thick composed of
loose gravel with a moderate-to-thin organic layer.
Site 003: (NAD27) 390 O'57.22"N 105019'11.65"W
Site 003 on the New Hawk lode claim has mild disturbance from a previous dig. This area
was damaged by the Hayman fire, killing much of the larger timbre, though a few scattered
pines remain. The surrounding area consists predominantly of bunch grasses and yucca. This
site has relatively thin soil roughly 3-4 inches thick. The top layer is loose gravel with a thin
organic layer.
Site 004: (NAD27) 390 O'54.7"N 105019'28.3"W
Site 004 on the Wildcat lode claim has mild disturbance from a previous dig. This area was
also damaged by the Hayman fire, though not as severely as the other sites. The area
