Grand County Department of Road and Bridge Benson Pit
Permit# M-1977-256 Technical Revision (cont)
12-March-2019
Description (cont)
access road, utility easement and safety berm. The attached Technical Revision map shows the
location of the proposed Facility, is in the last area to be mined on the permit and was chosen for
that reason.
The area was leased to Pivot Energy for 36 years and during that time it will have solar energy
facilities located on the lease are and it will be isolated from the rest of the mining permit area. A
safety berm is located along the northern limits of the leased area to limit access from the Facility
into the active mining area and it is fenced on the east and south sides. Access to the solar lease
area is by a separate entrance in the southeast corner of the Facility. All solar equipment in the
facility will be maintained by the lessee and will be their responsibility to remove. Pivot Energy is
responsible for maintaining any area disturbed by operation of the Facility and to protect the site
until it is mined. - - _ __
At the end of the lease period Grand County will determine what to do with the area, either renew
the lease, or mine and reclaim the area as approved in the Mining and Reclamation Plans.
