There was no discharge from the pond. The embankment was stable and there were no erosional features <br />noted. The SS-2 Pond was impounding water at the time of the inspection. The pond was not discharging. The <br />embankments were well vegetated. There were no indications of instability or erosion. <br /> <br />- - B-Sam Dewatering System No. 2 <br />The B-Seam Dewatering System No. 2 (BSDS2) consists of three cells. Only the first and second cell of the <br />system were being used. Water was impounded in both the first and second cells. There was no discharge from <br />the system. The embankments were covered with snow and the second cell was frozen over. There were no <br />indications of erosional features or instability. <br /> <br />- B-Seam Dewatering System No. 1 <br />The B-Seam Dewatering System No. 1 (BSDS1) was holding water in all of its cells during the inspection. The <br />pump for the system was not active. All but the first two cells of the system were frozen over. Discharge was not <br />occurring from the Last Chance Pond. The embankments were covered with snow. There were no indications of <br />instability or eros ion. <br /> <br />- Refuse Pile Ponds <br />There are four ponds located throughout the refuse disposal area; the RP -1 Pond, the RP -2/3 Pond (Photo 5), the <br />RP -4 pond and the RP-5 Pond. Access to the RP -1 pond was hindered by the snow on the ground and the road <br />was not plow ed past the RP-2/3 Pond. There was water impounded in the east cell and the main cell of the RP -2/3 <br />Pond. No discharge from the main cell was occurring. The embankments were covered with snow and the water <br />in the pond was frozen. The primary spillway’s trash rack was clear of debris. There were no erosional features <br />identified and the embankment was stable. RP -4 was impounding water. There was no discharge from the pond. <br />The embankments were covered with snow. There were no indications of instability or erosion. RP -5 was <br />impounding a small amount of water. Discharge from the pond was not occurring. The pond’s embankments <br />were covered in snow. There were no erosional features or concerns with stability observed. <br /> <br />- Raw Water Lagoon <br />The Raw Water Lagoon was holding water during the inspection. The embankments were covered with snow and <br />the pond was frozen. Discharge was not occurring. There were no indications of erosion or instability.
