March 20, 2019 C-1981-038/Bowie No. 1 Mine JHB <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />The ROM reclaimed pond was inaccessible due to snow patches and mud. Observations through binoculars dis <br />not observe any gullies or other obvious concerns at the ROM area. <br /> <br />The West mine was inaccessible due to deep snow cover on the public road accessing the site. <br /> <br />Ditches were not observed to inaccessibility. <br /> <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br /> Access throughout the mine site was limited due to remaining snow pack and inaccessibility of the roads. <br />No immediate maintenance concerns were noted in the areas we were able to access during this inspection. <br /> <br />ROADS – Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3), Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and <br />(6)/4.03.2(5) and (6), Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The West mine was inaccessible due to snow cover on county road. The East mine was inaccessible due <br />to snow pack on access road. The access road through the load out was dry and in good condition. No concerns <br />were noted with the road at the load out. <br /> <br />REVEGETATION – Rule 4.15 <br />Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br /> Vegetation is beginning to green up in the early spring conditions. BRL should follow up on Noxious <br />weed species identified last fall. Specifically, observations and management of areas that were identified and <br />treated for Jointed goat grass need to be observed. Location where Poison Hemlock were located, reclaimed pond <br />3, should be monitored for re-sprouting, and properly treated if plants are observed. <br /> <br />SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12: <br /> The East mine slopes are mostly free of snow. Observation through binoculars did not note any new land <br />movement, gully formation, or other damage. <br /> <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br /> BRL has had problems with unauthorized access and theft of items at the load out. The lock has been <br />changed. BRL continues to store unused mine equipment at the load out, and no mining or reclamation activity is <br />occurring at the load out.
