The inspection was completed <br />by Clayton Wein of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division). Jason Tuttle of Blue <br />Mountain Energy, Inc was present during the inspection. The weather was clear with a temperature of 40 degrees <br />F. The ground conditions were mostly snow covered and muddy. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> During the inspection of the mine site, a buck was seen on the embankment of the haul r oad. Deer tracks <br />and rabbit tracks in the snow were observed throughout the site. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> <br />- SS-1 and SS-2 Ponds <br />The SS-1 and SS-2 ponds are located near the Slot Storage. Both of the ponds were covered with snow. There <br />were no indications of instability or erosion on the embankments. There was no discharge from either of the <br />ponds. <br /> <br />- B-Seam Dewatering System #2 (Photo 1) <br />The pump for the dewatering system was inac tive at the time of the inspection. T he middle cell in the system was <br />holding a small amount of frozen water. There was no discharge from the pond. The embankments were covered <br />with snow. There were no observed signs of erosion or instability. <br /> <br />- B-Seam Dewatering System #1 (Photo 2) <br />Water was being pumped into the dewatering system during the inspection.
