EXHIBIT "D"
MINING PLAN
6.4.4 The Mining Plan is for a 112 Conversion Permit Application:
(a) Description of the methods of mining in each stage of the operation as related
to any surface disturbance on affected lands:
Mining methods will be consistent throughout the life of this mining operation. This will
be an open pit mining operation. The post mining reclamation plan is to return the site to
rangeland.
Topsoil will be stripped and stockpiled for use during reclamation. If there is any excess
overburden, it may be sold or given away.
This will be a dry mining operation since excavation operations will occur above the
regional ground water table. Primarily,scraper(s),front-end loader(s),excavator(s)and
haul trucks or other similarequipment will remove the topsoil, overburden and aggregate.
Material may be immediately sold,or placed in stockpile(s)(up to 10,000 tons).
Other Equipment
Equipment Type: I
Truck Scale Stackers/Conveyor's
Screen Plant
Topsoil and overburden, if any, will be placed in stockpiles until needed for site
reclamation. Processing(crushing and screening)of the excavated material will occur as
needed at the time of sale by the purchaser. (The applicant does not plan on any crushing
equipment on-site.) Any processing which might occur will be by portable equipment,
brought onto the site, and will be placed in a mined out area of the pit. The Pre-
mine/Mine Plan Map provides the locations of topsoil stockpiles. Atthis point in the
operation, if any overburden is generated, it will be placed into the location shown for
topsoil stockpiles. Topsoil and overburden will be kept separate and not mixed and each
type clearly identified in the field.
This operation will consist of five phases,to include the remaining area in the existing
unmined pit. Mining will begin where the existing operation and the proposed Phase
A meet and then proceed as shown on the Pre- Mine/Mine Plan Map.
-4
