Engineering Evaluation of Impacts on Permanent Manmade Structures within 200 feet of Permit
Boundaries and Affected Lands, M2011-014 Schmidt Site,Archuleta County.
Purpose: In accordance with Rule 3.6.12 (Exhibit L—Permanent Manmade Structures),when there is a
potential for adverse impact on the stability of any significant, valuable, and permanent manmade
structure within 200 feet of the affected land, and there has been no structure agreement reached
between the Operator(Applicant) and Person(s) having an interest in the structures, an appropriate
engineering evaluation shall be provided by the Operator(Applicant)that such structures shall not be
damaged by activities occurring at the mining operation.
The undersigned identified the following structures, by site inspection and aerial photography, which
appear to meet the requirements of significant, valuable, and permanent manmade structures within
200 feet of the affected land.
Structure Evaluation
Moak(East) (1) Fence (jointly owned with The jointly-owned fence is addressed in the Factor of
Scmidts, located on Schmidt Site) (2) Safety Analysis which addresses the 20-foot maximum
Outbuildings (at 200 feet+/-from Schmidt height retaining wall along the East boundary. The
Site), and (3)Well and pipe(approximately other structures are located at a sufficient distance
200 feet+/-from Schmidt Site) from the current and proposed excavations and other
activities on the Schmidt Site so that there would be
no significant negative impact, even if the retaining
wall were to fail and there was erosion or subsidence
on the Moak parcel. The water level in the well is well
below the elevations of excavations on the Schmidt
Site.
Snow Properties-245 River Run Drive The structures are located at a sufficient distance from
(West) (1) Portable storage building the current and proposed excavations and other
approximately 10x20 feet, (2)Trail and (3) activities on the Schmidt Site so that there would be
Well.
