Finial reclamation will leave ponds in place for wildlife.
4. Refer to Environmental Assessment, Appendix E, Division of Wildlife letter from Tonya
Sharp, and United States Department of the Interior letter from LeRoy W. Carlson.
F. CULTURAL RESOURCES
1. Railroad grade will not be disturbed on public land.
2. Any archeological fords will be reported to the Forest Service and work will stop in that area.
3. Refer to the Environmental Assessment Appendix A, A.1, A.2.
G. HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES:
1. The only hazardous substances used will be those associated with heavy equipment such as
diesel fuel, motor oil,anti-freeze and hydraulic oil, none of these items will be permanently on
site, temporary storage will be on private land.
i_ 2. The reclamation of the quarry area will be done in accordance with applicable USDA— NRCS
specifications, standards and guidelines. National Forest standards specific to the use of native
seeded and planted species will also apply to the reclamation activities. As the project schedule
incorporates concurrent reclamation, full reclamation is anticipated by 2008 or one to two years after
gravel disposal ceased. Revegetation of the disturbed area will aim at the reestablishment, over time,
of the conditions observed in the naturally occurring forest community of the surrounding area.
The mining area would facilitate reclamation by reducing slopes to between 2:1 and 3:1, with
` exception of possible rock outcrops. To the extent possible the contours will be reshaped to simulate
natural topographic conditions.
L
