January 16, 2019 C-1996-083/Bowie No. 2 Mine JHB <br />Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br />No activity is occurring on Gob pile No. 2 or Gob pile no. 3. Due to the inactivity of the Gob piles, BRL <br />does not plow the roads to these areas. The inspector observed these piles from a distance. The Gob piles were <br />snow covered and no concerns were apparent. A large elk herd was grazing on the west side of Gob pile #4. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3), Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and <br />(6)/4.03.2(5) and (6), Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />BRL only plows roads that they need regular access in the winter months. The Division is ina agreement <br />with this practice, to reduce potential damage from plowing, and reduce sediment and runoff from plowing. The <br />haul road to the upper portal, warehouse and facilities had been plowed but not above the warehouse. The Haul <br />roads to the Gob piles were not plowed either. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />BRL has plowed portions of the Facilities and portal areas. BRL continues to clean up equipment and <br />various material and ship them offsite.
