Transition aspen stand. Understory is dense chokecherry (Prunus virginiana) and
snowberry (Symphoricarpos rotundifolius) with some scattered serviceberry
(Amelanchier alnifolia).
Aspen stand being invaded by Engelmann spruce/ sub -alpine fir. This is
representative of aspen stands as they approach the SF vegetative type at higher
elevations.
