Below we have provided comments
that we hope will be included in the considerations and approvals of yourself and
reviewing boards.
1) The town is currently considering long-term safety improvements of a
section of Highway 6 adjacent to this project referred to as the
"hump". Removal of the hump is being considered in order to improve
horizontal site distance. Our staff has spoken to Chris Fedrizzi
regarding the ability for the town to use their property as a bypass road
while this work is completed. Chris was supportive of working
together to accomplish this task. We request that the approval of this
application include a requirement that Eagle Rocks continue to work
with the town and provide reasonable accommodations for this bypass
as this future work project evolves.
2) It is our understanding that Black Hills Energy has future pipeline
plans in this area, and we noticed that they were also copied on the
referral. We hope that you received comments from them as well so
that all parties that will be affected by this long range project can
contribute and be able to continue to provide our community necessary
and efficient services.
3) Now that Gypsum owns Highway 6 and not CDOT, Eagle Rocks will
need to formally submit for access approval from the town even
though we have been communicating with them on this project
informally up to this point.
