2.05.4 Reclamation Plan
(2)(b) A detailed estimate of the cost of reclamation of the proposed mine and mine
facilities are presented in Section 3.05 Performance Bond Requirements.
(2)(c) An excess of approximately 15,000 CY of material will be generated from
construction of the rail spur and will be stockpiled in the Coverfill pile as
shown on Map -16. Ballast, subballast and/or rip rap for the rail will be
obtained from United Companies 15 Road gravel pit, or, another DRMS
approved gravel pit located in the general project vicinity.
The reclamation plan is to restore the affected lands to approximate original
contours. To reclaim the areas to approximate original contour, ballast and
sub -ballast will be salvaged, coverfill material will be replaced and the site will
be graded to approximate original contours. Topsoil will be placed on the
regraded area and then the area will be seeded with the approved seed mix.
Light use road #2 will be used extensively for the reclamation of the areas
west of Reed Wash. Demolition and reclamation equipment will be
mobilized. Bridge beams and piling will be removed from the site using this
light use road. After the west side of the bridge is razed, and the area west
of Reed Wash is restored to approximate original contour, topsoil will be
replaced and seeding and mulching will be performed. Light use road #2 will
be the last area reclaimed west of Reed Wash. Gravel will be salvaged from
the light use road, topsoil will be replaced and the area will be seeded with
the approved seed mix and mulch will be applied. Alternative sediment
control will be used to treat the run-off from the reclaimed areas west of
Reed Wash.
Haul road #1 will be used extensively for the reclamation of the areas east of
Reed Wash. Demolition and reclamation equipment will be mobilized.
Bridge beams, piling, conveyors and other structures will be removed from
the site using this haul road. After all structures and conveyors are removed
from the site and the area east of Reed Wash is restored to approximate
original contour, topsoil will be replaced and seeding and mulching will be
performed. Restoration of the site to approximate original contours will
concurrently reclaim haul road #2 and light use road #1. Haul road #1 will
be the last area reclaimed east of Reed Wash if it is reclaimed. See haul
road reclamation in section 2.05.3 Since most of the area east of Reed
Wash is an industrial area, only 6.0 acres located near Reed Wash will be
Permit Application 2.05-30- 08/26/11
