As indicated this is primarily pinyon juniper mountain shrub community and <br /> provides habitat for a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. Individual requests as developed in your <br /> letter of April 8, 2008 will be addressed as will considerations for mitigating the impact of habitat <br /> disturbance on wildlife. <br /> Description of significant wildlife resources on the affected land: Elk,mule deer,black bear, <br /> mountain lion, Merriam's turkey <br /> Seasonal wildlife use of the area: winter range for mule deer, elk and turkey; summer/fall use by black <br /> bear <br /> Presence and estimated population of threatened or endangered species from both federal and <br /> state lists: There are no known threatened or endangered species present. <br /> Description of general effect during and after proposed operation on the area's existing wildlife: <br /> Disturbance of 146.5 acres can have a detrimental impact on wildlife if proper monitoring and <br /> reclamation is not administered.
