Resume with Rule 6.4.5
6.4.5 (Reclamation Plan)
(d) Where applicable, the operator/applicant has plans developed for the
segregation, preservation, replacement, compaction and grading of soil used for
revegetation. The revegetation plan will contain a list of the preferred species of
grasses to be planted as recommended by the field office of the NRCS which can be
found in Exhibit "J." All seeds recommended should be available and in sufficient
quantity to accomplish the revegetation.
Seedbed preparation has been covered in Section 3.1 of this application (See
3.1.10(5) ).
(e) The schedule of reclamation will closely follow the mining phasing, and the
operator would expect to start reclamation as soon as feasible after mining has been
completed in each phase.
The final grading also will be done in conjunction with mining. All backsloping,
daylighting and contouring will be done as mining progresses.
(i) This is an estimate of the period of time that will be required for
reclamation. Start times of reclamation is dependent on the length of time
of the mining Phase. Reclamation is independent in each Phase.
Therefore Phase 1 can be in reclamation and Phase 2 can be in mining.
To start reclamation in Phase 1, the entire area will have been mined-out
and the reclamation will start, at this point mining in Phase 2 will have
started. This is the plan that will be applied in each Phase. This method
will keep the disturbed areas to a minimum.
(ii) (ii) The largest area that will be in reclamation at any time will be
Approximately 95.6 Acres. Refer to locations of phases of reclamation on
reclamation map in Exhibit "F." Phase 1A will take the longest to reclaim
since it contains the processing and stockpile areas.
Phase 1A) 46.7 Acres
Phase 1 B) 37.1 Acres
Phase 2) 95.6 Acres
Phase 3) 93.1 Acres
Phase 4) 66.5 Acres
(f) Measures that will be taken to revegetate the site:
(i) Side slopes will be graded to a maximum 3H : 1V. The pit floor will be
graded, smoothed, and topsoiled. See maps.
