6.3.4 EXHIBIT "D" Reclamation Plan
Post-Mining Land Use Summary:
The proposed post-operations land use is to restore the property to wildlife habitat.
Restoring this property to wildlife habitat is appropriate. By removing and processing the pre-
existing abandoned mine waste rock from this area and reclaiming it to support vegetation will
create a better wildlife habitat.
(1) The purpose of the Reclamation Plan is to describe the timing, procedures, criteria and
materials that will be used to reclaim the affected land to the proposed future land use.
This plan must be correlated to Exhibit E—Map. The description of the Reclamation
Plan must be adequate to satisfy the requirements of Section 3.1 and demonstrate
compliance with Rule 3. At a minimum, the Application shall include the following
information:
(a) sped at what point in the mining plan and to what depths) overburden will be
replaced in relation to ongoing extraction.
No overburden is to be removed as part of the proposed operation. The material to be
removed is pre-existing abandoned mine waste rock.
(b) specify the maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes (horizontal:vertical). If the
Application proposes slopes steeper that 3:1, the Owner/Applicant must include a
justification that supports steeper slopes for the proposed post mining land use,
and demonstrates compliance with the applicable performance standards of
Section 3.L
The maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes of the Affected Area is to be the natural, pre-
existing grades, typically 5H:1 V or less. This will create a stable grade, only to be
enhanced by the reclamation and re-vegetation measures.
This operation fits into the local land use, both during and after the reclamation measures
have been applied.
(c) specify the measures that will be taken to revegetate the site, if applicable,
including:
(i) state the thickness of plant growth medium to be replaced. Sample and
analyze available soils sufficiently to establish quantity and quality;
Considering the condition of the topsoil under the waste dump material, virtually no
topsoil exists. Soils analyses will be done to determine what amendments may be
needed to make a viable plant growth medium, once the dump materials is removed.
39
