The soil will be amended with the addition of chicken or cow
manure.
• Organic amendment application rates will be determined
according to soil test results;
0 Organic amendments will be analyzed prior to application to
determine the nutrient content;
• Organic amendments and necessary fertilizer will be tilled
into the soil prior to seeding;
Supplemental nitrogen will not be applied until the stand of
grass is established, in order to minimize weed competition.
Fertilizer requirements will be determined based on soils
analysis. The amount of fertilizer applied will be determined by
an analysis of random soil samples taken from the surface one
foot of the irrigated field(s).
Soil samples will be taken from each soil type. A sample will
be a composite of 15 to 20 one foot deep soil cores taken from
randomly selected sites across a uniform soil type.
Soil will be tested for pH, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium,
texture class, electrical conductivity, sodium absorption ratio
and available water holding capacity.
Additional guidance regarding soil sampling is provided in
Exhibit 5, CSU Publications "Soil Sampling". Plant nutrient
requirements are provided in Exhibit 5 "Fertilizing Alfalfa and
Grasses". The plant nutrient requirements will be compared to
the soil fertility analyses to determine fertilizer requirements.
f. Proper disposal of acid-forming and toxic forming materials.
There is no indication that any acid-forming or toxic forming materials
will be encountered on site. Refer to Section 2.04.6(a)(iii)(D). Please
refer to Section 2.05.3(8) for a discussion of the applicant=s plans to
handle debris and non -coal waste.
RN -07 2.05-30 03/18
