(12) Escapeway <br />• This mine portal was constructed to provide an emergency exit for Mine <br />Number 1; it also houses the Mine Number 1 air heaters. The one- <br />story, 15' x 20' x 10' high, structure is constructed of sheet metal <br />and sits on a concrete foundation. It has a steel plate door which is <br />not loced, and it is posted "Escapeway". <br />(13) Rock Dust Bin <br />This structure is elevated to accommodate the track passing beneath, <br />bringing overall height to 33 feet. Otherwise, this bin is identical <br />in use and construction to that described in Item 5, and is similarly <br />equipped with an exhaust filter and a "full" indicator light. <br />(14) Coarse Refuse Bin <br />The coarse refuse bin stores refuse material from the coal breaker. <br />• It is a 30 foot high, square, steel plate bin, 18' x 18', on a <br />concrete footer foundation. The bin has a "full" indicator light, and <br />the conveyor carrrying refuse to the bin is equipped with a spray bar <br />to guard against dust dispersion. <br />(15) Surge Bin and Coal Breaker <br />This 70 foot, four-story, all -metal, 47' x 20' structure receives raw <br />coal from both mines. The breaker unit is enclosed, and all chutes, <br />belts, and belt drop areas are equipped with metal shrouds to contain <br />dust. All material transfer points are equipped with spray bars. A <br />fire extinguisher is located on each level of the structure. <br />
