The inspector met Mr. Basil Bear of Bowie
Resources at the Bowie No. 2 Mine. Basil was unvailable to accompany the inspection, so no mine personnel
accompanied the inspection at Bowie No. 1 Mine. The mine is a reclaimed underground mine. No mine
personnel remain on the site.

BACKFILL and GRADING – Rule 4.14
Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27;
Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6:
The permittee has submitted a technical revision to remove the two ponds and the 650 foot long culvert
under the ponds at the West mine. The operator has previously staked the area proposed for redisturbance with the
proposed TR.

Regraded slopes at the East mine and R.O.M. areas remain stable and well vegetated.

HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9:
Four ponds remain at the Bowie No. 1 complex. All ponds at the east mine have been reclaimed and are
not showing signs of erosion or damage to the establishing vegetation. The reclaimed pond at the R.O.M. area
looks stable, the straw blankets remain well anchored, and no signs of gully formation was noted in this area.

The two ponds at the west mine are proposed for removal. The Division is currently reviewing this revision. The
willows and trees have been removed from the bottom of West mine pond W-2. Both pond W-1 and W-2 were
dry at the time of the inspection.

Two ponds remain at the loadout. The loadout pond was dry and the willows had been graded out of this pond.
