6.3.3 EXHIBIT C
Mining Plan
6.3.3 Mining Plan description:
The purpose of the mining plan is to describe how mining will affect the permit area for the
duration of the operation. This plan must be correlated to Exhibit E—Map. The description
of the mining plan must be adequate to satisfy the requirements of Section 3.1 and
demonstrate compliance with Rule 3. At a minimum, the Operator/Applicant must include
the following information:
(1) The purpose of the mining plan is to describe how mining will affect the permit
area for the duration of the operation. This plan must be correlated to Exhibit E—
Map:
(a) The estimated dates mining will begin and end. If the operation is intended
to be an intermittent operation as defined in by statute, the Applicant should
include in this exhibit a statement that conforms to the provisions of the
Statutory requirements:
• The proposed operation will not be an intermittent mining operation.
• Mining operations will begin once all required permits are in place. This is a
CDOT roadway project and removal of the borrow material from the site
should require less than nine months once the project begins. Removal of
borrow material from the site and site reclamation should be completed prior
to the end of 2020.
(b) The estimated depth topsoil will be salvaged, specify how the topsoil will be
stockpiled and stabilized with a vegetative cover or other means until used in
reclamation. Topsoil stockpiles must be protected from mine operations
traffic, stream channels or drainageways. The location must be shown on
Exhibit E—Map:
• The part of the proposed borrow area is an historic borrow area. As such,
there is very little topsoil present on the southern '/z of the site. Soils Unit
106 has very little topsoil. The top 0-3 inches is a sandy loam. Below
twelve inches is bedrock. We will therefore strip no more than 6 inches off
of soils Unit 106. This unit comprises approximately 3.8 acres of the
proposed Borrow area.
• The other soils unit is Unit 7. This Unit has the deepest soils. It only
comprises about 1.4 acres of the proposed borrow area. In this Unit, the top
6 inches is a sandy loam. From 6 inches to 19 inches is a sandy clay loam.
We will take 18 inches of topsoil from this Unit (3, 6 inch lifts). The total
plant growth material available from this Unit is approximately 1,129 cubic
yards.
• Using 6 inches of plant growth material stripped from soils Unit 106, over
3.8 acres which is available for stripping, equals approximately 1022 cubic
yards of plant growth material.
• Replacing 6 inches of plant growth material over an estimated 26.95 acres of
30
