In unmined areas, topsoil from 0 to 4 inches is salvageable and will redistributed in already
backfilled previously mined areas. The expected average depth of topsoil is less than 4" based on
existing cuts in the permit area. If stockpiling of overburden and topsoil becomes necessary to
prevent erosion of topsoil and overburden stockpiles, piles will be seeded within 180 days of
establishment with the rangeland seed mix or quick oats. Stockpiles will be constructed to
2.51-1:1 V slopes for topsoil and overburden.
Aggregate material from any steps may be separated and sold as an aggregate byproduct.
Secondary commodity gravel will be crushed, screened, and washed off-site. Any gravel material
that is not sold by the gravel Operator will be backfilled into reclaimed areas on the site or
preserved on site for the City of Aurora's use.No explosives will be used in conjunction with
mining and reclamation operations.
2. Mining Timetable
Mining will begin in 2019 and will continue until the exploitable resources are fully removed.
500,000 CY of materials processing will occur each year. Since the operation will only be active
for—8 months per year, and the total mineable resource is estimated to be 12,000,000 CY,the
full gold mining operation will take approximately 24 years, provided no new resource areas are
identified, no plant expansion occurs, or other unforeseen factors occur.
3. Mine Facilities
A summary of equipment and related tanks used during gold mining and secondary gravel
processing is shown below:
• Portable restrooms for employees and visiting personnel
• 2-3 x trommel and sluice
• front end loader of Cat 980 size (n =2-3)
• Cat D-8 size dozer(n = 1-2)
• 14G motor grader
• hydraulic excavator (n=2-4)
• in pit pump and 8" piping into sediment pond
• 10,000 gallon double walled diesel tank
Box Creek Placer Mine Greg 1. icki and Ass wtm PI L(
September 2018 D-8
