main site road and working outwards. The area disturbed would not exceed 25 acres at any time
including haul roads and processing areas. Each of the disturbed areas shown on Map C-2 will be
mined out starting from the main site road and working outwards
An approximate timetable to describe the mining operation is shown on the Map C-2. The life of
this mine may extend beyond the original as listed on the mining plan map, this depends upon
demand for the product this time line may be shorter or longer. This mine will be a year round
operation with no planned extended cessation of operations at this mine site. It is proposed to use
a floating bond on 25 acres on this operation as mining is completed in the mining units as
proposed see Map C-2. The operator estimates that 3 to 5 years will be required to establish the
reclaimed area back to pastureland after the cessation of mining in each area such that may be
considered for release by the Mined Land Reclamation Board of the Division of Reclamation,
Mining, and Safety. The reclamation is an ongoing process as soon as the first unit is deemed to
have enough land area ready for reclamation to start. The sequence of the mining and
reclamation will follow a natural progression, timing is critical and the final reclamation without
an extended delay is the ultimate goal.
As stated in this report the mining and affected land will range between 6.32 to 25 acres with a
maximum of 25 acres being disturbed at any time. Reclamation would be occurring on the lands
mined out concurrently with mining.
The backsloping and final pit floor will continue to be done concurrently with the mining.
Robinson Sons Inc. will continue to reclaim 5 to 10 acres areas as they are deemed mined-out.
This allows the operator the allotted time to establish a planned reclamation plan and continue to
mine hence the 25 acre floating bond. As stated before this site is on an upland terrace deposit
with the following characteristics:
The areas to be mined Lorencito-SarciIlo-TrujiIto complex, 3 to 25 percent slopes Trujilto loam,
3 to 9 percent slopes.
It is estimated that the deposit is from 12 to 18 feet deep with negligible overburden and from 8
to 12 inches of topsoil in the area of the deposit. Some overburden will be used to supplement
Robinson Gravel No 1
September 2018 D-2
