ensure sediment laden stormwater from disturbed areas does not leave the site. There will be no
discharge. A Stormwater Discharge Permit and associated Stormwater Management Plan
(SWMP)will be developed for this operation.
As stated above, no water will be required or involved so there are no sources of supply.
A Stormwater Discharge permit will be maintained from the Water Quality Control Division of
the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and associated Stormwater
Management Plan developed. However, the applicant will not be acquiring or applying for a
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit since there will be no discharge.
The statewide groundwater standards will be followed as established by the Water Quality
Control Commission (WQCC).
Classified areas: Operations that may affect the quality of ground water in a specified area that
has been classified by the WQCC shall comply with standards applicable to such specified area.
Unclassified areas: operations that may affect the quality of groundwater, which has not been
classified by the WQCC, shall protect the existing and reasonable potential future uses of such
groundwater.
Water quality standards applicable to groundwater that has been classified, state-wide standards
for certain pollutants, and interim narrative standards set by the WQCC shall supersede any
numeric protection levels established for the subject pollutants.
3. Water Consumption for the Operation and Water Rights
Dust will be controlled by both magnesium chloride and water. Water will only be used to spot
water between applications of magnesium chloride in order to eliminate any problem dust areas.
The total annual depletions for this operation are expected to be less than 0.5 acre-ft given the
low production and minimal need for dust control.
Robinson Gravel No 1
September 2018 G-3
