This site is privately owned and does not fall under the State Historic Preservation Office
Requirements for a cultural or history study. There is no cause to believe there are any areas of
interest to be mined. The State Historic Preservation Office was notified and no sites where
found, see attached letter for details.
There are some structures such as a gas well pad and gas pipe lines owned by PIONEER
NATURAL RESOURCES USA INC, the well and gas lines are operational. Powerlines owned
by San Isabel Electric Association Inc. also are located on the property. The applicant owns the
ranch fences presently on site and no permanent structures are planned for this site during the
mining process. A certification of ownership for the fencing on the property is attached to this
permit application.
Topsoil will be stockpiled in close proximity to the mine areas in order to shorten haul distances
to and from the areas that were stripped. Once the topsoil has been removed and segregated from
the other spoil or product it will be saved for replacement. If the duration before use exceeds one
full growing cycle the topsoil stockpiles will be seeded with western wheatgrass to control
erosion.
Mining on the affected lands will disturb little woody vegetation, however, if any volumes of
woody vegetation are produced they will be properly placed in areas segregated from the topsoil
stockpiles and used in conjunction with the reclamation. The applicant may cut some trees and
salvage them for firewood.
Stockpiles will be configured to minimize erosion and will be located in areas where disturbance
by ongoing mining operations will be minimized. As stated above, if necessary stockpiles will be
seeded for the purpose of stabilization.
It is planned to locate topsoil stockpiles so material will only have to be handled one time.No
relocation of topsoil is proposed.
The operator will take measures to assure the stability of replaced topsoil on graded slopes by
roughing the subgrade to gain a mechanical bond to the topsoil being replaced. This should
insure the elimination of any slippage zones. It is the owner/applicant and landowners opinion
Robinson Gravel No 1
September 2018 D-6
