1.1.1 Alpine Forest <br /> The alpine forest consists of a mixture of Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine, and Blue Spruce trees <br /> commonly found in the mountains of Colorado. Aspen groves can also be seen amongst the <br /> conifers, with some groves present on the meadow. The typical tree height is roughly 20-40 feet. <br /> Shrubs amongst the trees range in height from five to eight feet tall. The forested areas of the site <br /> are fairly dense with 60-70%cover. <br /> 1.1.2 Rangeland Meadow <br /> Over the flatter portion of the site north of the mountainside,the dominant vegetation community <br /> consists of mountain grasses and forbs. Typical height is between 12 and 24 inches, with ground <br /> cover being 70-80%.
