Update Mining and Reclamation Mans
Fremont Paving and Redi Mix would like to update the mining and reclamation maps as
requested by Elliott Russell in the Inspection Report dated 2/28/2018. Included in this Technical
Revision are updated Mining and Reclamation Maps for reference. The original permit had
included in the language various levels of disturbance, Minor/Moderate/Major. That
terminology is no longer used. Fremont Paving and Redi Mix, Inc. is mining the site as the
original permit application discusses. The map included shows our current mining operation,
with processing and stockpile areas denoted. As we mine through the current acreage, we will
proceed easterly. As we finish up the western edge of our current active mining area, we will
begin reclamation activities, including sloping at a 3H:1 V as necessary and seeding according to
the reclamation plan. We will ensure we continue to proceed in a fashion that reclaims areas that
are completely mined out as we progress easterly. The map shows approximations of the next
100-acre areas in purple, yellow and blue highlight. Fremont Paving and Redi Mix does not
intend on conducting phased mining or bonding at this site. We anticipate keeping
approximately 100 acres open at any given time while reclaiming an additional 100 acres.
Update Erosion Control Information
Fremont Paving and Redi Mix, Inc. is continually improving our erosion control measures at this
site. We have enclosed a map diagraming our most recent additions of BMPs to control storm
water flows and control erosion. We have added straw waddles and placed small ditches to help
divert storm water flows and keep erosion to a minimum. As conditions warrant, these BMPs
may be moved, added to or removed as reclamation activities persist. However, Fremont Paving
and Redi Mix, Inc. will continue to be mindful of best management practices and the necessity to
control storm water flows onsite. Enclosed for review is Discharge Permit COG501765 for the
site.
