drainageways.
➢ The location for the topsoil stockpile and its access road are shown on
the Pre-mine Mine Plan Map.
➢ The entire area for topsoil storage should be adequate as a temporary
storage area. It is free of drainages, is fairly flat.
➢ Appropriate storm water management control will be implemented
around the topsoil stockpile.
➢ Given the short duration of the borrow operation, the topsoil stockpile will not
be seeded. The topsoil stockpile will be left rough as placed. Once borrow
material is removed and final grading and discing(as needed)is complete, the
topsoil stockpile will be removed and the topsoil replaced on the final regrade.
➢ However, in the unlikely event the stockpile is not used for site reclamation
within one year, it will be seeded with the approved reclamation seed mix. The
topsoil stockpile location and its access road will then be reclaimed.
(c) Specify the thickness of overburden or quantity of waste rock, if any,
to be removed to reach the deposit. The location of any overburden
stockpiles or waste rock fill must be shown on Exhibit E—Map:
This mining operation is a borrow pit. Once the adequate topsoil is removed, all
excavated material will be used as borrow material.
(d) Specify the thickness of the deposit to be mined:
Maximum removal depth will be approximately 6 feet. We plan to remove up to
250,000 cubic yards of material.
(e) Describe the major components of the mining operation such as: roads,
access routes, pit, office, shop/maintenance buildings, plant, processing
facilities, and any underground openings such as adits or ventilation facilities.
These components must be located on Exhibit E—Map:
• All major components are shown on Exhibit E—Pre-Mine/Mine Plan Map.
• The operation will consist of an access road allowing borrow material to be
loaded and hauled to the CDOT project construction site. The existing
access road will be modified as needed to permit safe access off County
Road 46 to the borrow area. The access road will be reclaimed once
mining and site reclamation operations are completed.
• All haul roads interior to the borrow site will be maintained during mining
operations to be safe and to function properly.
• Road maintenance will include maintaining proper drainage, runoff
controls, and dust control as needed.
• No on-site scale,processing facility, office, shop/maintenance facility, plant,
or any underground openings will be created or needed.
(f) Specify the dimensions of any significant disturbance to the land surface
such as pit excavations, mine benches, impoundments, stockpiles, waste rock
disposal areas, etc:
24
